I made this as my final magazine cover as I feel it has the ability to stand out whilst also looking clear and structured at the same time. The red on the bars standing out compared to the black and white figure behind it would allow the magazine to stand out for audiences, as black and white entirely would look too bland, and it also relates to the primary colour used throughout the magazine: Red.

On my previous work I had made the 'Subliminal' title independent, in the middle of the screen along the bars by itself alongside a strapline. This made the audience lose focus on the main graphic, which is not what I wanted, so instead I actually made the movie title apparent from the side article, giving a promotion of the film whilst also having the title 'Subliminal' made in large and bright red text to stand out. Another feature that made the audience lose focus on the main graphic was the puff being in the middle of the magazine, to which I fixed by moving the puff above the bar code.

I also chose the fonts throughout the magazine because I felt they all stand out among the background, intentionally not using any thin fonts with a bland colour as they might get lost in the graphics, and with the bright red and sharp fonts they would relate to the horror trope the magazine reaches for. The titles of the articles would also relate to the trope by only displaying horror related titles, making sure the magazine seems professional in the horror genre and therefore a magazine to look to for our type of film.
